ExaPen User Manual - 4. Oscilloscope
This feature allows to analyze low-frequency signals from different vehicle sensors: CPS, ABS, fuel injector control, PWM-controlled units, low-frequency data lines, etc.
Visualized waveform provides information, that the output of the sensor is working or the control signal is present on the tested circuit. All next precision measurements (signal integrity, pulse duration, etc.) must be done with professional equipment if needed.
The Oscilloscope screen has 5 indicators:
- Vertical resolution (voltage range);
- Signal frequency, if detected;
- Duty cycle, if detected, valid only for square signal;
- Maximum detected voltage value;
- Horizontal resolution.
Operation
ExaPen monitors the input signal in a real-time and shows the signal shape on the screen. Oscilloscope has an automatic trigger mode feature.
- ◀ Button allows to switch between the voltage resolution settings (5, 12, or 24V).
- ► Button allows to switch between the horizontal resolution setting (x1, x2, x4) to be able to see low-frequency signals.
- A single press of the ⬤ button pauses the reading on the screen. This is followed by the “pause” logo (1).
