Cx1-AS Capacitive Probe for High Tension Wires for USB Autoscope IV

Cx1-AS is a capacitive type sensor designed for an oscilloscope USB Autoscope IV (incompatible with the other oscilloscopes) for diagnosing distributor systems and picking up a triggering pulse from the first (or any other) cylinder. The sensor is directly mounted on a high tension wire and gives the ability to measure secondary voltage parameters, accessing ignition spark capability and identifying problems related to high-voltage wires, plugs, caps and coils.

Sensor Design

The sensor clips around the spark plug wires and detects the pulse created when a spark is produced in a contactless way, converting it to a waveform for display. The sensor’s case is rubberized, which makes a fragile sensor element damage-proof and high voltage protected. A soft cable with a high density braided copper shield to minimize noise pickup so you can get high accuracy of the measured signal.
